Volunteers work with staff as a team to provide on-going support to participants in neighbor-to-neighbor relationships. The goal is to help the participant move toward financial and social stability.
Volunteers begin as listeners in a session between staff and a participant, and that is the only commitment involved when signing up for this program. However, most listeners soon agree to become more involved with the family they meet, and they become valuable advocates.

Our goal, through partnerships, is to create stability and work toward sustainability. There is no one-size-fits-all program; each participant develops goals and means of working toward them. The CSC team walks beside neighbors as friends and confidantes. The Community Support Center does not provide support for emergency or temporary housing.
The Community Support Center (CSC) works with local residents in need to prevent homelessness, solve financial crises and provide long-term relationships. CSC staff and volunteer advocates:
- Take time to listen
- Provide connections and resource referrals
- Prevent evictions
- Prevent shut-offs or other crises
- Assist in goal-setting
- Offer continuing support
Can't spend a dime?
